Brand History
Aberlour was founded in 1879 by local businessman and philanthropist James Fleming in the Speyside village of Aberlour, Scotland. Built near the Lour Burn and St. Drostan’s Well, the distillery was created around Fleming’s belief that actions matter more than words, a philosophy expressed through the motto, “Let the deed show.” After a major fire damaged much of the distillery in 1898, Aberlour was rebuilt and continued producing its rich, fruit-forward single malt Scotch whisky. Today, the brand is particularly known for combining whisky matured in American oak barrels with whisky aged in Spanish sherry casks, creating a signature balance of fruit, spice, vanilla and dark sweetness. Aberlour is now part of the Pernod Ricard portfolio and remains one of Speyside’s best-known single malt producers.
