Brand History

Alberta Premium traces its roots to Alberta Distillers, founded near Calgary in 1946 by Frank McMahon, Max Bell, and brewmaster George Reifel. Drawing on locally grown Canadian prairie rye and Rocky Mountain water, the distillery developed a strong reputation for rye whisky. Alberta Premium later became its signature expression, known for being produced with 100% rye grain and for its bold yet approachable Canadian character.
