About Akashi Goju 50 Sherry Cask Malt & Grain Whisky

Akashi Goju 50 Sherry Cask is a high-proof Japanese blended whisky produced by Eigashima Shuzo in Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture. It combines wheat, rye and lightly peated malted barley and is double distilled in copper pot stills. The whisky initially matures for three years in new oak, ex-bourbon and ex-shochu casks before receiving an approximately two-year finish in ex-sherry casks. Bottled at 100 proof, it balances rich sherry sweetness with dried fruit, baking spice, coastal salinity, dark chocolate and gentle smoke.
