Akashi Tanzanite is a three-year-old Japanese single malt produced by Eigashima Shuzo at the Eigashima Distillery in Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture. It is the second release in Akashi’s gemstone-inspired Gem Series and is created from malt whisky selected and combined under the direction of the distillery’s toji, or master sake brewer. Matured in carefully selected sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at 86 proof, it offers a bright profile of lemon zest, apple, banana, mint and honey, supported by chocolate biscuit, ginger spice and a subtle trace of smoke.
